On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi put forth serious allegations against the Congress party, asserting that they have neither supported the welfare of farmers nor allowed others to contribute positively in this regard. This statement was made during an event titled “Ek Varsh-Parinaam Utkarsh” held in Jaipur, which commemorated a year since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came into power in Rajasthan.

During the program, PM Modi was honored by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, a gesture that underscored the significance of the occasion. In his address, the Prime Minister further accused the Congress of fostering conflicts over river water between states, using the supposed delays in the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) as evidence of their lack of concern and intention to resolve such issues.

"The Congress party has consistently avoided addressing water-related issues. Our rivers could have benefited farmers; however, the water flow across state lines did not translate into advantages for them. Rather than seeking resolutions, the Congress has opted to fuel disputes over water," PM Modi stated during his public address in Dadiya.

He continued, remarking on the promises made by Congress in favor of farmers, asserting that their rhetoric does not match their actions. "While they make grand promises regarding farmers, they neither take action themselves nor allow others to make a difference," he noted with emphasis.

Highlighting a more cooperative approach, Modi remarked that his party aims to promote constructive dialogue among states, in stark contrast to the opposition party's tactics.

During the event, he affirmed, "We stand for collaboration rather than confrontation. We choose solutions over disturbances. That is why our government has not only approved but also expanded the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project." He shared that an agreement on the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal projects was established following the formation of the BJP government in both Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Reflecting on the Sardar Sarovar Dam initiative in Gujarat, PM Modi criticized the Congress and certain non-governmental organizations for employing various strategies to hinder its progress. "The Congress has not shown any inclination to remedy the water crises we face; the benefits of our rivers should have reached our farmers," he added, reiterating his commitment to addressing these ongoing challenges.

Moreover, during this significant event, the Prime Minister laid the groundwork for 24 projects focused on energy, transportation, railways, and water infrastructure, with a cumulative worth exceeding ₹46,400 crore. He elaborated on how the Parvati, Kalisindh, and Chambal projects would enhance irrigation and drinking water services across 21 districts in the state of Rajasthan while propelling development in nearby areas in Madhya Pradesh.

In a broader context, PM Modi also contemplated the implications of the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, indicating that the mandate given to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for a third successive term would be unprecedented.
