Authorities are urging two brothers to surrender following an alleged shooting incident in Queensland, where a woman was shot in the street. The suspects reportedly fled the state after the incident, prompting a police appeal for their return.
Authorities are currently seeking the assistance of the public in locating two brothers who are wanted in connection with the alleged murder of a woman in a suburban neighborhood. The incident, which has garnered significant attention, involves the tragic shooting of Chloe Jade Mason, a 23-year-old victim, who reportedly lost her life after being pursued and shot on Railway Parade in Caboolture on December 22.
The Queensland Police have issued arrest warrants for the individuals believed to be responsible, specifically targeting Codye Thomson, aged 29, and his brother Kaine Thomson-Gleeson, who is 32 years old. The police are urging the brothers to voluntarily present themselves to law enforcement authorities following their escape into northern New South Wales.
Detective Inspector Harbison noted that prior to the issuance of these warrants, the two brothers had already been questioned as witnesses during the initial stages of the investigation. According to Harbison, one of the individuals resided on Railway Parade, and on the day of the incident, they were interviewed alongside other potential witnesses.
“At that initial stage, there was not enough evidence to link them to this alleged homicide,” stated Detective Inspector Harbison. However, as the investigation progressed and new evidence emerged from neighbors and the community, law enforcement officials became confident that they had gathered adequate information to proceed with charges against the brothers.
It has now been established that the deceased, Chloe Mason, had a known association with the two men. Reports indicate that an altercation occurred at a residence on Railway Parade, during which it is alleged that Mason sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
In the aftermath of the shooting, police discovered a firearm in the vicinity of the incident, which is currently undergoing forensic analysis to gather further evidence.
Detective Inspector Harbison has issued a warning to the public, advising them to avoid approaching the brothers if spotted. Instead, he emphasizes the importance of contacting emergency services by calling triple-0 immediately. “We consider these individuals to be dangerous,” he remarked, urging the brothers to surrender at the nearest police station. He added, “If you choose not to turn yourself in, rest assured that law enforcement will continue the search. You will be apprehended on our terms, utilizing the necessary measures as the situation demands.”
Detective Inspector Harbison expressed concern for the brothers’ intentions, suggesting that they may resort to extreme measures to evade capture. “They are aware of their wanted status in connection with Chloe’s alleged murder, and we are taking this matter very seriously.”
The police request that anyone who may have any information regarding the whereabouts of Codye Thomson and Kaine Thomson-Gleeson or who may have witnessed the incident come forward. They stress once again the need for caution, reiterating that individuals should not approach the suspects directly. Instead, any relevant information should be communicated to authorities by dialing triple-0 (000).
