He recounted waking up moments later to find that four fingers on his left hand were missing. However, the investigation revealed a far more disturbing reality.

Prior to the discovery of the truth, authorities speculated that Tarapara's actions might have been connected to superstitious beliefs, including potential black magic rituals. With this new lead, the case was filed at the Amroli police station, subsequently transferred to the city’s Crime Branch for further scrutiny.

To uncover the truth, crime branch officials meticulously reviewed CCTV footage and applied both technical surveillance and human intelligence. This thorough examination led to the unveiling that Tarapara had orchestrated his own injury. He admitted to purchasing a knife from a local shop in Singanpore and, four days later, at approximately 10 PM, he parked his vehicle on Amroli Ring Road.
