Authorities advised both pedestrians and drivers to steer clear of the vicinity, implementing traffic changes and localized detours to ensure public safety.
The Eastgate site underwent an evacuation procedure on Monday morning due to the presence of a "suspicious" item within the center. A police spokesperson confirmed to SkyNews.com.au that the investigation proceeded for approximately 30 minutes and concluded shortly after 11 AM when it was determined that the package did not pose a danger.
Reports from NSW Police indicated that the questionable item was identified as an e-bike battery.
