Witnesses reported seeing the two ascend the hill together but became suspicious when only Rushikesh descended alone. Their concerns prompted them to report their observations to local authorities, leading to the young man's apprehension shortly afterward.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has publicly denounced this heinous act, calling for immediate legal action against the accused.
