An Australian woman reported feeling "up and chatty" following a frightening incident of alleged alcohol poisoning while vacationing in Fiji. Her recovery has sparked relief among family and friends, highlighting the perils of excessive drinking while traveling.
An incident involving a 56-year-old Australian woman has raised concerns after she, along with six others, reportedly experienced symptoms consistent with poisoning following the consumption of a cocktail at a high-end resort in Fiji. The drink in question, which is thought to be a pina colada, was consumed at the Warwick Resort, a luxurious destination where guests expect top-notch service and safety.
The woman was initially in critical condition and required immediate medical attention, leading to her transfer to Lautoka Hospital. Thankfully, her condition has improved, as reported today; she is now stable, sitting up in her hospital bed, and engaging in conversation. Family members are by her side, providing much-needed support during her recovery.
Despite having only a small quantity of the cocktail prior to her hospitalization on Saturday night, her quick deterioration in health, accompanied by symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and neurological complications, prompted urgent medical intervention. In a statement released to the media, the Warwick Resort expressed profound concern regarding the reports of potential alcohol poisoning.
