The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has unveiled its fourth list of 38 candidates for the upcoming 2025 Delhi Elections, featuring Arvind Kejriwal's competition against Sandeep Dikshit, highlighting a pivotal electoral battle in the capital.
On Sunday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) officially announced its final roster of 38 candidates in preparation for the forthcoming Delhi assembly elections. This strategic unveiling is significant as it showcases the party's comprehensive approach towards securing representation across all constituencies in the capital.
Arvind Kejriwal, the party convenor and former Chief Minister of Delhi, will be contesting from the New Delhi constituency, where he faces a notable opponent, Sandeep Dikshit, son of the three-time chief minister Sheila Dikshit. In this competitive political landscape, Kejriwal's candidacy stands as a crucial focal point for the party's campaign.
Meanwhile, Atishi, another prominent figure within AAP, is running from Kalkaji. The party’s cabinet members, Saurabh Bharadwaj and Gopal Rai, have also secured candidacies in their respective areas, with Bharadwaj contesting from Greater Kailash and Rai from Babarpur. A multitude of other candidates has been selected representing various constituencies, including Som Dutt for Sadar Bazar, Imran Hussain for Ballimaran, and Mukesh Kumar Ahlawat for Sultan Pur Majra, among others.
Kejriwal expressed confidence in the candidate selection, emphasizing the party’s commitment to advancing its vision for the people of Delhi. He noted that AAP has put forth candidates for all 70 assembly seats, underlining the party's solid foundation of educated and capable individuals ready to execute its agenda. “The achievements we've made in the past decade are extensive,” Kejriwal remarked on a social media platform, reinforcing the notion that the electorate will recognize and support those who work diligently for their benefit.

The party had previously announced candidates in a phased manner, starting with 11 names in the first list, followed by 20 in the second, and one additional candidate in the third list. This election cycle sees the removal of 17 sitting lawmakers from AAP's candidate lineup, signifying a shift in strategy as the party seeks to rejuvenate its representation.
Reflecting on the previous electoral performance, the AAP had achieved a remarkable victory in the 2020 Delhi elections, securing 62 out of the 70 assembly seats. Manish Sisodia, the former Deputy Chief Minister, shared sentiments on social media regarding the party's renewed commitment to the electorate, urging for another five-year mandate to continue its focus on critical areas such as water supply, energy management, healthcare, and educational reforms.
Nevertheless, Sisodia emphasized that the opposition, specifically the BJP, currently lacks a coherent vision or leadership for the citizens of Delhi, contrasting it with Kejriwal’s established reputation as a beacon of hope for further progress. This ongoing electoral contest appears poised to engage Delhi's electorate in determining the future direction of the region as both parties unveil their respective strategies and candidates.
