The FIR was filed following accusations that Mr. Gandhi was responsible for injuring two BJP MPs, Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, within the Parliament complex, which led to their hospitalization.

Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal stated, "The FIR against Rahul Gandhi is merely a diversionary tactic aimed at countering his strong opposition to the Home Minister. A case filed against him for upholding the legacy of Babasaheb Ambedkar is indeed a badge of honour. Rahul Ji is already facing 26 FIRs, all stemming from the BJP’s political vendetta. This latest one will not dissuade him or the Congress from opposing the caste-driven RSS-BJP rule." He further emphasized the lack of action regarding complaints lodged by Congress's women MPs, who have alleged physical assault by BJP leaders during the protests. "Why has the Delhi Police not taken action on the FIRs filed by our women MPs against BJP leaders?" he questioned.

Priyanka Gandhi added to the discourse by asserting, "The entire nation is observing; they have continually filed multiple cases against Rahul Gandhi. The introduction of new FIRs and fabricated claims showcases their level of desperation." The BJP MPs, spearheaded by Anurag Thakur, have lodged a police complaint alleging that Mr. Gandhi pushed their members during a demonstration at Parliament, resulting in injuries to Pratap Sarangi of Balasore and Mukesh Rajput of Unnao.

Thakur has labeled the incident as a "very unfortunate" display of "arrogance" from Mr. Gandhi, asserting that he perceives himself as above the law. He contended that Mr. Gandhi disregarded a passage marked by security personnel, instigating the physical altercation.

The Congress party firmly refutes these claims, accusing BJP MPs of impeding Mr. Gandhi's peaceful demonstration. Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress president, has alleged that he was violently pushed during this confrontation, which led him to sit down. "Now they are accusing us of pushing them," the 82-year-old leader remarked.

Furthermore, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has alleged that BJP MPs armed with sticks obstructed Mr. Gandhi's path. In response, the Congress has lodged a counter-complaint against BJP MPs at the Parliament House police station, accusing them of instigating the tumultuous situation.

National Conference leader Omar Abdullah has come to Mr. Gandhi's defense, stating, "I know Rahul Gandhi; he would never push anyone." Conversely, Nagaland MP S Phangnon Konyak has accused Mr. Gandhi of misbehavior during the confrontation. In a letter addressed to Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar, she described feeling "extremely uncomfortable" due to Mr. Gandhi's physical proximity.

In a related development, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has submitted a breach of privilege notice against Rahul Gandhi, alleging that he shared a "criminally edited" version of Home Minister Amit Shah's speech. This notice, presented to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, claims that Mr. Gandhi's actions violate the decorum expected in parliamentary proceedings.

The controversy gained traction after Mr. Gandhi circulated a video of Mr. Shah’s remarks made during a discussion on the Constitution in the Rajya Sabha. Mr. Dubey contends that the video was intentionally "edited" to distort the essence of the Home Minister's speech, allegedly portraying him as disrespectful towards Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

In his correspondence to the Speaker, Mr. Dubey criticized the actions of the Congress leader as symptomatic of "political bankruptcy," raising questions on the integrity of the shared content.
