Several schools, including Delhi Public School in RK Puram and Ryan International School in Vasant Kunj, received bomb threat emails on Saturday, raising safety concerns and prompting immediate investigations by authorities.
In a troubling development, the capital city witnessed a resurgence of bomb threats targeting several educational institutions just a day after 30 schools had received similar communications. On Saturday, police confirmed that yet another wave of alarming emails was dispatched to various schools in Delhi.
Among the institutions affected were well-known establishments such as Delhi Public School in RK Puram and Ryan International School located in Vasant Kunj. Authorities comprising police personnel, members of the fire service, bomb detection teams, and dog squads swiftly arrived at the schools to conduct thorough investigations.
As part of the protocol, a comprehensive search operation commenced, although officials reported that no suspicious items were discovered on the school grounds as of yet. The situation continues to be monitored, with law enforcement emphasizing the importance of maintaining safety in these environments.
According to reports, the troubling emails originated from an address identified as [email protected], signed off with the name Barry Allah. The content of the emails conveyed menacing messages that invoked religious references, asserting that divine judgment awaited those who resisted the sender's threats.
One of the emails ominously proclaimed, "Allah sees your efforts to resist his punishment. But they are futile. For no mortal being can escape the judgement of Allah." It further declared those opposing Allah as "enemies" and warned of dire consequences, stating, "The Prophet Muhammad has allowed the children to burn in the sacred flame of Allah."
In the correspondence, the sender also detailed intentions to destroy school buildings at a time when students would presumably not be present, emphasizing the supposed invincibility of their plans: "Our bomb vests are blessed by the Prophet Muhammad. They shall not fail their goal," the email asserted.
In light of the bomb threats that occurred the previous day, East Delhi’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ravi Kumar Singh, noted that investigations into the incidents revealed that the emails were traced back to sources outside the country, heightening the complexity of the situation.
The frequency of such alarming threats has understandably stirred anxiety among parents and school staff alike. Police have reassured concerned parties that they are fully committed to conducting a thorough investigation and ensuring the safety of all students and staff members during this unsettling time.
This incident follows a previous wave of threats targeting over 44 schools earlier in the week, when an email from an individual using the address [email protected] was sent. That communication contained a demand for $30,000 and detailed threats asserting that bombs had been planted within school premises. The disturbing message articulated a desire to inflict harm, stating, "You all deserve to suffer and lose limbs," should the financial demand not be met.
The increase in such threats has led many parents to voice their frustrations, highlighting the anxiety caused by needing to constantly check their devices for updates regarding their children's safety. As the situation evolves, the authorities are under pressure to address the security concerns that have emerged from these incidents.
As investigations continue, it is crucial for law enforcement to respond effectively to these threats, ensuring that educational environments remain safe and conducive to learning, while simultaneously addressing the ongoing fears of parents and the broader community.
