Kindergartens and early childhood services will share in $1.4 million to help upgrade and improve their latest IT equipment, thanks to the Allan Labor Government.
Member for Melton Steve McGhie today announced that Goodstart Early Learning Melton - High Street, Goodstart Early Learning West Melton, Goodstart Early Learning Melton - Centenary Avenue, Arnolds Creek Kindergarten, Bridge Road Kindergarten, Cambrian Preschool, Eynesbury Kindergarten, Kingsway Preschool, Melton West Preschool, Melton Central Preschool, Botanica Springs Kindergarten, Brookfield Children's Centre, Mt. Carberry Preschool and Thornhill Park Children’s and Community Centre will receive funding in the latest round of Building Blocks IT grants which will help services deliver educational programs and support administration.
Grants up to $2,000 are being distributed to over 760 eligible services for equipment such as laptops, iPads, screens and IT hardware used to deliver kindergarten programs. The Building Blocks Program, which offers grants to contribute to kindergarten infrastructure and equipment, is critical to ensure the success of the roll-out of the Best Start, Best Life reforms across Victoria.
Since Building Blocks was launched in 2020, the Labor Government has invested more than $235 million in planning, building and upgrading early childhood services across the state.
The Labor Government is investing billions to build and expand hundreds of kindergartens across the state, supporting the delivery of 15 hours of Three-Year-Old Kindergarten each week by 2029 and up to 30 hours of Pre-Prep each week by 2036.
