Weather Update: IMD Issues Heatwave Alert, Predicts Rain in Several Regions
Heatwave Alert in Multiple States
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for heatwave to severe heatwave conditions across several parts of the country until June 9. An orange alert has been issued for heavy rains in Goa, Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka, Assam, and Meghalaya.
IMD Heatwave Prediction
The IMD has forecast heatwave conditions in parts of Uttar Pradesh and isolated areas of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, and Jharkhand on June 8 and 9. Specifically, Uttar Pradesh is expected to experience isolated heatwave conditions on June 6, escalating to severe heatwave conditions from June 7 to 9.

Rainfall Prediction
Mumbai: The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Mumbai predicts a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 35°C and 29°C, respectively.
Delhi: The Regional Weather Forecasting Centre (RWFC) in Delhi forecasts a partly cloudy sky, dust storms with thunderstorms, very light rain, and strong surface winds for today.
Karnataka: The Meteorological Department predicts light to moderate rain/thundershowers in several districts, including Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Bagalkote, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Koppal, Raichur, Ballari, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapura, Chitradurga, Hassan, Kodagu, Kolar, Mandya, Ramanagara, Tumkur, and Vijayanagara.
Monsoon Update
The IMD has issued an orange alert for heavy rains in Konkan and Goa on June 8 and 9, in Madhya Maharashtra and Coastal Karnataka on June 9, and in Assam and Meghalaya on June 7 and 8. Isolated to scattered light to moderate rains with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are predicted for Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Vidarbha, and Madhya Pradesh over the next four days.
Additional Rainfall Forecast
Light rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) is predicted over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand over the next 2-3 days. Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi are likely to see very light to light rainfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds (30-50 kmph) from June 5 to 7. Uttar Pradesh will experience similar conditions on June 6, and Rajasthan from June 5 to 8.
