A monumental drug bust in Delhi sees authorities confiscate over 500 kg of cocaine valued at ₹2,000 crore, with connections to an international smuggling ring.
In a significant operation, Delhi police have made their largest drug seizure to date, confiscating more than 500 kg of cocaine valued at a staggering ₹2,000 crore. This operation has resulted in the arrest of four individuals linked to this extraordinary find, which was uncovered during a raid in south Delhi.
According to police reports, this colossal cocaine shipment is tied to an international drug smuggling syndicate. The authorities believe that this syndicate is orchestrating large-scale drug trafficking operations that extend beyond the borders of India.
This latest discovery comes on the heels of another drug incident in Delhi's Tilak Nagar, where two Afghan nationals were taken into custody after being found in possession of 400 grams of heroin and 160 grams of cocaine. Such incidents highlight the growing concern over drug trafficking in the capital.
On the same day, authorities at Indira Gandhi International Airport intercepted another significant drug shipment. Customs officials seized 1,660 grams of cocaine valued at over ₹24 crore from a passenger arriving from Dubai, who holds the nationality of Liberia. This individual has also been arrested in accordance with the NDPS Act of 1985.
Delhi Customs has shared details of the operation via a statement on social media platform X, highlighting their commitment to combating illicit drug trafficking. They emphasized that this operation was based on strategic profiling to detect suspicious activities at the airport. The statement further mentioned, “Customs@IGI Airport have seized 1660 grams of Cocaine valued at Rs.24.90 cr from one male Pax of Federal Republic of Liberia Nationality.”
Authorities are continuing their investigations into these recent drug busts to uncover deeper connections within the smuggling networks and to ensure that all individuals involved are held accountable. The increasing frequency of such incidents suggests a rising trend in drug trafficking that poses serious challenges for law enforcement agencies in India.
As these investigations unfold, the public remains alert to the dangers posed by drug-related activities and the efforts being made by authorities to combat these issues. The situation calls for increased vigilance and collaborative efforts among citizens and law enforcement to tackle the growing drug problem in the region.
In conclusion, this recent series of drug busts emphasizes a critical issue that needs urgent attention, as authorities work tirelessly to dismantle these dangerous networks operating within and outside India.
