Revanth Reddy boldly confronted KCR to step out of his farmhouse, asserting that the Congress party's resurgence follows the farmers' declaration from Warangal. He argued that the Telangana populace continues to prosper under his leadership, detailing his government's initiatives, including women empowerment, agricultural support, and infrastructure development.
Revanth Reddy Challenges KCR to Engage with the People, Promises Development for Telangana
Hyderabad, Nov 19: Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, issued a direct challenge to K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), urging him to abandon his secluded lifestyle and reconnect with the citizens of Telangana. During a public rally in Warangal, part of the ‘Praja Vijaotsavalu’ series celebrating one year of Congress governance, he responded critically to KCR's claims that the electorate has regretted their decision in the wake of a ten-month Congress rule.
Reddy expressed disbelief at KCR's detachment from public sentiment, questioning why he refrains from interacting with the populace if he genuinely believes they are suffering. He invoked the example of Rahul Gandhi, who has consistently remained accessible to the public despite multiple electoral defeats, emphasizing the necessity of leaders to engage with constituents directly.
The Chief Minister pointed out that while KCR's family may have encountered setbacks, the wider public has experienced significant advancements under Congress. He extended an invitation to KCR to raise his concerns within the Assembly, promising readiness for open dialogue.
Revanth Reddy accused the BRS of obstructing his government’s development initiatives through sabotage and intimidation tactics, including the employment of rowdies. He took a prominent stand against Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, who referred to him as a 'slave of Sonia Gandhi.' Reddy rebuffed this remark, asserting that Sonia Gandhi has been an instrumental figure in realizing Telangana’s long-cherished dreams and likened her to a mother for the state’s four crore residents.
The Chief Minister further crucified Kishan Reddy's allegiance to Prime Minister Modi, stating that such actions undermine his legitimacy in Telangana. In a passionate recount of his administration's accomplishments, he highlighted empowerment initiatives for women, including free public transport and subsidized cooking gas prices. Additionally, he noted that every qualified poor family receives up to 200 units of free electricity monthly.
Reddy touted the 'Indiramma government' for filling 50,000 job vacancies within ten months and emphasized the waiving of Rs. 18,000 crore in farmer debts that aided 22 lakh families. He acknowledged that technical issues had delayed the waiver of specific crop loans but reassured that all eligible farmers would ultimately benefit.
Presenting impressive agricultural statistics, the Chief Minister declared that Telangana farmers produced 1.53 crore tonnes of paddy, a record high compared to other states. He attributed this agricultural productivity to the momentum gained from the farmers' declaration made at the Warangal gathering, signaling a revitalization for the Congress party, which has now regained control.
Reddy concluded with a commitment to elevate the historic city of Warangal, matching its development to that of Hyderabad, citing an allocation of Rs. 6,000 crore for enhancement projects. He asserted that the development of Warangal would parallel broader advancements across half of Telangana, reinforcing his government’s agenda for comprehensive regional growth.
