Russian officials reported that overnight Ukrainian drone attacks resulted in the death of one woman and injuries to three others. The attacks set residential buildings on fire in Ramenskoye, Moscow region. Authorities also evacuated 43 residents to temporary shelters.
According to Moscow's governor, several flats in high-rise buildings were damaged by the fires. Russian air defenses intercepted 144 Ukrainian drones, with 20 reported over Moscow. The strikes caused the closure of four Moscow airports and led to the suspension of over 30 flights.
By Tuesday morning, Russia’s aviation authority, Rosaviatsia, confirmed that operations had resumed at three of the affected airports—Domodedovo, Zhukovsky, and Vnukovo.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported downing 38 of 46 Shahed-type attack drones launched by Russia. Additionally, Russia fired an Iskander-M ballistic missile and a Kh-31 air-to-surface missile, targeting various Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Odesa, and Kharkiv.
The drone attacks are part of the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, with both sides conducting frequent raids. Recent developments include Russia’s claims of territorial gains in eastern Ukraine, specifically the capture of Novohrodivka. Ukrainian forces have reportedly retreated from the area, though Kyiv has not yet commented.
