A 23-year-old rugby union player, Connor Lind, is facing trial in Sydney's Downing Centre District Court for allegedly engaging in sexual acts with two underage girls.
The complainant, who was 15 at the time, testified that she received the explicit image on Snapchat and was shocked by the unexpected message. She claimed that Lind later kissed her and touched her inappropriately in his car, despite her objections. The court heard that the complainant told police she had said "no" multiple times, but Lind continued his advances.
Lind has denied engaging in any sexual acts with the 15-year-old girl or a 14-year-old girl, with whom he is also accused of having sex. His barrister, Lisa-Claire Hutchinson, argued that Lind was a promising rugby player and university student at the time and had no reason to engage in such behavior.
A friend of the 15-year-old complainant testified that the girl had told her about the alleged incident, but did not mention saying "no" to Lind's advances. The friend agreed that she would have remembered if the complainant had told her the sex acts were non-consensual.
The court also heard allegations that Lind had engaged in sexual acts with a 14-year-old girl, including anal, oral, and digital sex. A witness testified that they had seen Lind's hand down the girl's pants while they were spooning on the couch at his parents' house.
The trial will continue before Judge John Pickering on Tuesday. Lind has pleaded not guilty to four counts of having sexual intercourse with a child and one count of intentionally sexually touching a child.
