Mumbai Police initiates extradition of Anmol Bishnoi, linked to a shooting incident at Salman Khan’s home, as part of a broader investigation involving high-profile cases and organized crime.
Mumbai Police's Crime Branch has initiated the extradition process for Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of infamous gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is wanted in connection with a shooting incident outside actor Salman Khan’s residence. According to police sources, a non-bailable warrant has been issued against Anmol by a special MCOCA court, while additional court documents are awaited to finalize the extradition request. Once completed, a formal proposal will be sent to the central government to facilitate further action.
In a major move, a Red Corner Notice has also been issued to locate Anmol Bishnoi internationally. The extradition process reportedly commenced after U.S. authorities alerted Indian agencies to his presence in the country. Until recently, he was believed to be in Canada. Last month, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) added Anmol Bishnoi to its most-wanted list, offering a ₹10 lakh reward for his capture.
The Bishnoi gang, notorious for its involvement in high-profile crimes, gained attention after the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022. Recently, the gang made headlines again following a firing incident near Salman Khan's Bandra residence in April. Threats against the actor, linked to Lawrence Bishnoi, have escalated, particularly over the 1998 blackbuck hunting case, prompting increased security measures around Khan’s home.
Alongside Lawrence Bishnoi, Anmol and Canada-based gangster Goldie Brar have been named as key suspects in the firing case. According to the police’s chargesheet, Anmol reportedly encouraged the shooters in a nine-minute speech, claiming they were about to “make history.”
The Bishnoi gang is also under investigation for the recent murder of politician Baba Siddique, who had close ties with Salman Khan. Additionally, the Bishnoi brothers have been implicated in a 2022 conspiracy to raise funds and recruit youth for terrorist activities in Delhi and across India.
